Mouser, keeper of the hearth
Mighty warrior, terror of birds, snakes, squirrels,
Eyeing the insolent groundhog with fury.
Purring loudly to wake your ancestral lions,
Filled with pride, yet thankfully
Kindhearted toward babies, even when they pulled your tail.
Thanks for sleeping at the edge of the bed for nearly twenty years.

I’m not a real knowledgeable animal guy, but isn’t 18 years pretty old for a cat? (for some reason I have that 10-12 is the norm?)
Anyway, sympathies on this.

Thank you. Yes, she had a very long and happy life, lived like a queen. Some cats do last this long but not always, she was lucky.
