New Project

Here’s the start of something I’ve been working on for awhile. It was supposed to be out this fall, but my plans fell through, and I’ve been looking for a new publisher.

This one is a dark fantasy/comedy about a neighborhood gone bad. Think ‘The ‘Burbs’ meets Haunting of Hill House, with a touch of Something Wicked This Way Comes. I’ll be sharing chapters of it here in the coming weeks.

If you enjoyed what you read, please comment and let me know, and share it.

And Happy Solstice!

  1. This is really great to read and the narrative really place me on scene. I can only imagine some of the real life experiences in and around your own home, potentially, that inspired some of this. I can relate to the experiences the neighbors had with Billy Joe and his stereo. Then you introduce the stranger and his operatic stereo and music he was blasting to counteract Billy Joe’s music. The strangers music sounds like my childhood and my father blasting similar tastes in music when I was a kid. Next I suspect, and I may be wrong, but sounds like something is coming far worse than Billys music and potential Euclidean geometry to go along with the mysterious repairs to the edifice. Well done my friend, keep it coming!

Thanks for your thoughtful comments, Anthony! Yes, definitely inspired by experiences in the suburbs. I think all of us have had some of these issues at one time or another. That is cool that your dad loved classical music. I’m glad you could see something worse is coming from the house 🙂 I’ll keep sharing on here, glad you enjoyed it!
